Help identify verbatim disks

Can someone please help me identify whether the following verbatim disks are genuine and who make them (CMC, Prodisc etc)? I couldn’t find any info about the following serial numbers.

The serial numbers on the disc itself are as follows;

ZD3093-DVR-147A (silver ring)
MAHA19KE04141794 4 (inner plastic ring)

They came in packs of 25 and say MIT.

Looks like a CMC serial number to me.

So you are sure they are genuine? How can you identify the serials?

Also what’s the difference between datalife plus and standard disks. I’ve seen the same media code (MCC 02RG20) and they were listed as datalife plus disks but my verbatims are not d-plus.

Datalife plus was mearly a marketing logo and nothing to do with anything really, there will be no difference between the discs.

Faking of serials on DVD-Media has not happened yet, your discs are definetelly genuine.

A fake serial would be something along the lines of:

DVD-R M803 - IFPI 5342. (infosmart serial used on fake Verbs, Hyundai discs and Bulkpaq discs).

But it could be anything really - As long as you have a ZDxxxx-DVR-xxxx code then you know the discs are real. Also - Fake Verbatim discs are not common.

Your discs contain a geunine MCC serial: ZD3093-DVR-147A
And a Genuine CMC serial: MAHA19KE04141794 4

MCC=Dye type used
CMC= Where it was manufactured

Your discs are real, nuff said.

Dye? No, it’s media code or stamper! CMC MAG E01 uses MCC azo dye, for example!
And there are also ZD codes on MAM-A made fake media.

Ok, thanks for the info.

By the way, these discs should burn very well in a LG 4163B, right? The LG doesn’t have a scanning option so I can’t really see how compatible they are.

LGs like good media like Verbs or TYs. :slight_smile:

Yep, as I’ve said countless times - LGs like good media. As kg_evilboy said, Verb (MCC) or TY should keep it happy. :slight_smile:

Great, thanks guys.
