Hello, boy am i glad that this Forum exists, I’m new to this backing up dvd thing and have been successful in doing so until the last few days when it all seems to have gone wrong. I have posted the burn log but i am now getting te same error message no matter what Media I use.
Please can someone possibly tell me where I am going wrong. I am using DVDFAB GOLD versiion 4.1.2.0 Here is the log. I am not a teccy by any means just a single mum tying to backup the kids dvds so they dont get ruined after the first play !

Hi denise
those RITEK disc’s are not good media to use very problematic, also how many times have you reformated the RW disc’s
RW disc are not really good for backing up DVD movies, they degrade fast over time and after you reformat so many time they can become unreadable

ukdenise that matshita drive is not any good also. In common settings what burn engine are you using? what is the write type you are using? Is it SAO or packet writng? Also try burning using good media like verbatim or taiyo yuden and not those rw. Like stormjumper said those rw media degrade fast over time.

hi there

thanks for the comments, i cant do much about the drive its in the laptop i use.As i stated before im not a pc expert and dont know
a. where i can find the burn engine i use ? I just loaded dvdfab and just let the pc do the work i didnt load any specific burn engine.
How do i find out what write type i am using ?
Thanks re the media i am using. They are new RW discs so thought would be ok Im not burning over already used discs.
When i have tried to use dvd r they dont burn at all.

Sounds like i need to trash the laptop is any of this salvagable ?

Thanks again

D

ok in common settings dvd write you will see burn engine. default is the vso burning engine which seems to work for me. then write type change packet to sao and check the set booktype to dvd-rom. the burn engine giv es 3 choices vso, nero and imgburn. you should pick up a pack of verbatim and try them as they might work for you

This burner is crap!

Only try with DVD-RW from Verbatim or Ricoh, or media from Verbatim, TY.
