For starters …reset your drive to DMA they are in PIO
2008-12-02 20:56:11 Info PIO Mode

#3

Along with making sure DMA is set correctly, I always set my burn speed to “Lowest”, and I use better media (Verbatim DataLife Plus for dual layer, and Taiyo Yuden for single layer).

#4

using this media you can burn at the rated speed of the disc or 1 speed lower than the rated speed. That’s what I do and have not received any coasters yet using TY or Verbatim media

#5

Follow-up question when I go to change it from PIO to DMA, I don;t have IDE ATA/ATAPI listed anywhere on the device manager?

my computer, HP pavillion, running Vista doesn’t have that drive?

How do I reset the DMA on Vista?

I responded to that question in a cross-post. I gave the following thread without realizing he was using DVDFab (even though it was posted in that forum).

he is new and probably forgot that you not supposed to crosspost according to the forum rules. But he did start a thread with a different problem than this thread so it might not be crossposting. But either way need to reread the rules
