Hi, I hope someone might be able to help me.
I was experiencing problems with my internet, so I had to back-up and reinstall my laptop. I made back-ups on several dvd+r’s, and one back-up I made on a dvd+rw. All the dvd+r’s are working fine, so I got those files back. When I put my dvd+rw in my laptop however, it is being recognized as an empty cd-r.
I would really like to retreive the files on this disk, so would anyone know of a way to access the files? Maybe there is software that can work around the problem? Thanks for the help.

From what nero is saying it recognize it as a dvd+rw media cause it says it also 4.38G. So I am not sure where your getting the information that it says it’s a CD-R blank media? Are you sure you put the correct media that you backup the information in the drive rather you grabbed a blank CD-R media and placed it into the drive mistaking it for the DVD+RW media??? Oh yeah, sometimes when you put in a burned media disk in it also read CD-R when you open my computer screen. But from what nero is showing it saying the media in question is dvd+rw…if it was cd-r nero would tell you that as well…

You’re right, it’s my computer that is telling me that it is a cd-r when I put the dvd+rw in my laptop.
But nero also seems to tell me that the dvd is empty, whereas on the back of the dvd it is clearly visible that it has been burned ‘halffull’. Do you think I could still retreive the files from the disk somehowe or is this a lost cause?
