Well i got this cable at Ebay -_- and now that I put more thought to it im kinda thinking its a scam… is there ANY chance this cable could work?
Cause the one I have doesnt…
and for those who want more information the seller stopped answering my emails and im stuck with it =(

Heres the link and Picture of the product

I’m not exactly sure what the purpose of this cable would be for, as VGA is analogue based and HDMI is digital based. It is quite possible that there are a few products out there that use the HDMI output as a nonstandard way of outputting VGA and analogue audio (e.g. where is not enough space for separate HDMI, VGA and RCA outputs), much like how some digital cameras use the same USB port for both audio/video (with a special mini-USB to AV cable) and connecting to a PC or PictBridge printer.

I would be a little suspect of the product.

It’s possible to go the other way.

One would have to go to a dedicated switch if they make one to accomplish your task.

I doubt if it’s a Scam… there is probably some application for this product as it’s found all over.

Here’s another one with a slightly better description.

Here’s another somewhat similar cable.

Oh well.

this cable does work. I use it all the time… if your using it from a laptop, you have to select 2nd output screen, I use it with my laptop to older projector that only has RCA inputs.
the hdmi, has the audio and video which is better than just vga which is video only then you have to bring another cable out of your laptop to an amp seperate from the video input your using.
