Hi there.

You’ve posted this in totally the wrong forum so I’ll ask another mod to move it Nero & InCD.

Anyway it’s possible that your problem was caused by this:-

CdRomPeripheral : HP DVD Writer 640c atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off
Even if it wasn’t this must be fixed.

Check out this thread to fix this.

What media are you using? Nero’s CD-DVD Speed , using the disk info tab will give us the details we need plust mention the brand as well.

I just noticed this in your log:-

Disc Application Code: 61, Disc Physical Code: 130

Not sure what that suggests though. Crap disks or burner going perhaps.

As for the second post it’s odd that the MID isn’t picking up , was this done in the DVD-ROM as it must be done in a burner.

Just because you’ve been using the disk for a long time doesn’t mean that things haven’t changed. Many, many brands will use a different dye but keep the same packaging and suddenly what worked well before now fails. Some might even mix the dyes within the spindle/cake box.

What is that brand you’ve got?

#5

It was done in the burner but the company name of the discs is “comstar”.

#6

I’d suggest some quality media would help as using poor quality media is very often the cause of burn problems.

Try Verbatim as these are readily available.

#7

I am trying a rewriteable disc by Maxwell…I will keep you posted on if it is going to work thanks again for all your help…

#8

Hey Tim C, I didn’t see how to create a new thread, but why would a nero recording not have the audio, while the audio is there when played with the Nero DVD player? It’s an avi file and I haven’t had any problems before? Just curious.

#9

@acree

When you go into the forum you think you want to post into, on the left just above the the threads listing (Threads in Forum) is NewThread. Click on that & away you go.

To answer your question it could be a codec problem. Use Gspot or AviCodec to examine the avi & give details of the video & audio codecs. It’ll show you if something is missing.

I’m quite happy for you to create your own thread for this. In fact I really think you should to avoid confusing this thread.

#10

TimC I tried the new disc and presto it worked…thanks for all your help back to having fun…

thom0214!

#11

Quality discs all the way. So many problems wouldn’t be posted here if people used decent media. Trouble is that known brand names , eg Memorex , don’t necessarily mean quality these days.

You can’t go far wrong with Verbatim for DVDs & CDs , both write once & rewritable.
