Have a powered USB drive converter... usb, not recognized by OS (LG GH20NS10)

Click here to view full specs.[/qanda]Normally run the burner in the server - removed it and set it on a separate power supply (IDE LG GH20). Plugged into laptop cuz laptop has cd and need dvd to install VISTA 64 bit. Can’t get XP 64 OS to recognize burner. Is there an INF out there that will clue the burner in as to how to communicate with xp os?

assuming this converter has its own power supply, there shouldn’t be any problem to recognise the drive with Windows built-in drivers (there are no others).
Please check if the unit is recognised with other computers using this USB adapter.
You may also try different USB ports.
