Copy protection? What’s a copy protection? :d

It puzzles me as to why game consoles use media compatible with PCs. If they used a format that was physically incompatible with any PC hardware it would be a lot harder to copy.

Sega did that with the Dreamcast using GD-rom’s that couldn’t be read in a CD-rom drive, but that didn’t help much… the Dreamcast was hacked and you could suddently play copied games on it without a mod chip.

Sega’s mistake with the GD-ROM drive was allowing it to read normal CD-ROM’s. They fixed it midway into the production run, but by that time, it was already far, far too late. They would have had a half-decent form of protection going on if it could only read GD-ROM’s from the get-go.

Nintendo did on the Gamecube, they are mini DVDs holding 1.5GB which are read in reverse to the norm. Thats why it has taken so long and you have to use a NIC to stream from a PC.

The GC is dead anyway much like the DC was at the same point (But the DC seems to have had a longer run).

Goodmorning posted this 3!!! days ago on my website www.ownage.nl hehehe like always YOUR RUNNING BEHIND THE FACTS!!

What do you mean GC is dead. That can only be said by someone who has an RSI-box (xbox (pc) gamer) or some dirty ass low res sony player. (see me mention GC in capitals… the way it should be!

The only current game console I own is the GC. The fact is the GC has poor 3rd party support because no one can sell any games for it. I only got the GC for the Nintendo 1st party games anyway. GC is doing very poorly, soon the GC console will come as a free bonus when you buy a GC game or something just so they can clear out the zillions of unsold consoles they have.
