Okay guys I seem to be getting an error that is really annoying me.
I have two drives. A Plextor PX-708A and a standard DVD drive [JLMS XJ-HD 166S]. Recently, when I was trying to burn a compiled DVD of videos, I proceeded to make an image first. I was dumping the image, using the plextor. I encountered an error though, and I could not dump the image. So I then proceeded to just copy the contents of the DVD to my hard drive first. It was going fine until I received a Cyclic Redundany Error. So then, I copied each episode, one by one, onto my harddrive. All was working fine until episode 46, where they CRC error was repeated. Out of curiosity, I took out the DVD and put it into my normal DVD drive, and it was able to extract the file perfectly! After noting this, I proceeded to make the image of the DVD, using the standard DVD drive as the reader....and it dumped perfectly.
I know that I may have given too much detail, but I just wanted to make sure that you have all the information. The fact that my plextor seems less able than my stupid little DVD drive seriously worries me, and I'm wondering as to what the problem may be.
I had recently downloaded the firmware update for my plextor, but it doesn't help.
Also, my Plextor is unable to read some CD's that my DVD drive can
Please someone, I would appreciate any help.
Thanking you in advance,
