Hi,
I have a different result when I was using a Promise Ultra 133 Tx2 IDE controller card. I need extra IDE connections for my legacy hard drives. WinXP recognise them as regular hard drives ; not removable.
The Ultra TX controllers behaved different since they are IDE controllers “only”
Would there be some kind of driver conflict for the two different cards. I no longer have the IDE card installed as I have finally transfer all files over to a Sata hard drive. I have checked device manager, only the Sata card driver is displayed
I don’t think, there will be any conflicts.
On my computer, there is a Promise Sata II 150 onboard (slightly crippled version of your controller card) which is doing a nice job here (at the moment I have an IDE HDD, a Sata HDD (external) and a TSST SH-S203B connected to that controller). Had an additional Sata controller card with SiI 3512 installed and still no problems (apart from the inability to boot from USB devices, but this is likely a Bios flaw).
