Happy Birthday Arachne!

Since we’re a couple of days past Lin’s birthday.

deanimator’s “cupcakes” sure look good .
Looks like somekind of bacon or ham with an egg on top.
This is something I will try to do myself.

Yeah I thought they looked great too. :iagree:

I wonder what’s in the middle though?

I was kind of hinting for the recipe if dean actually cooked this.
My guess is the egg is sitting on an already cooked bisquit or in your case a scone.

You’re probably right but I’d like something savoury in the middle.

Sausage would be nice!

Hi Wombler, I could enjoy a sausage fill in the middle.
To make sure we’re talking about the same sausage .
I mean the ground kind that is for making " patties".
For this I would just " scramble" brown the sausage & fill .

UK style sausages like this, not the frankfurter type.

We have basically the same here . We call them link sausages.
They come in sizes from “Little Sizzlers” to fairly large like a bratworst
but with different spices.
I think I would still go with a "scrambled " sausage underneath the egg.
Just my prefference.

Hehehe

Oh, and +1 for a sausage in the bacon and egg cupcake :iagree:

TBH I’m not sure if you can get our style of sausages out there.

I’ve had links style sausages on various occasions when I’ve been out there and the ones I’ve tried are completely different.

The only time I’ve had a proper UK sausage out there was the hotdog I had in Epcot in the ‘World of the United Kingdom’ (which mysteriously includes the Republic of Ireland as well).

You might be correct but the picture you posted looks like the common lining(washed intestine) stuffed with ground pork. So the main difference would have to be the spices .

Although I don’t get out to it often because it’s about a 30 mile round trip. We have a major butcher shop out in the country. They have a large variety of sausages, So I might be able to find one close.

However for a while a hot link I like stopped being made. Longhorn Brand Hot Link Sausage .

Edes was just not the same .

Also I’ve never found a Polish sausage that tastes like Wienerschnitzel fast food restaurant has on their Polish sandwich . I recommend trying one sometime you are here.

I think the best sausage I ever had was homemade (not by me).
A combination of feral hog & venison stuffed in a lining. The woman that made them had it right.
