GTA: Vice City (SecuRom 4.x)

I am trying to back up my copy of GTA: VC, and I can’t seem to find out what kind of copy protection it uses using Protection ID.
I searched the forums, and I found a thread that said it was “SecuRom 4.x”
So I set Alcohol 120% to copy CD with SecuRom 4.x/5.x, and it failed, I still have to use the original CD to play.
I am using my LiteOn DVD-ROM to read from the original disc, and my
LiteOn 4x DVD +/- RW, 40x CD-RW. Model number LDW-411S to write the CD.

Hi Justin,

try this guide using a CDRW for not wasting your CDR’s if the method fails, asTwinPeaks method is harware dependant Alcohol 120%: Copying SecuROM 4.8x protected games with no emulation.

Hmm never considered TwinPeaks really hardware dependant, as if 2 writers write exactly the same patched image, chances are that if one of them doesnt work, the other ome probably won’t either. But the compatibility rate is not very good. Usually more tolerant readers will have a better chance of reading them successfully.

A LiteON DVD reader should do fine. I never used TwinPeaks, just my trusty old Premium :D.
