Having problem to find a firmware update for my LG GSA-4164B.
My DVD-Recorder have some trouble to understand that it really is an empty cd in the device, so I thought an update would make it read cd’s correctly.

Found LG GSA-4164B 1.03 firmware on softpedia, but there’s nothing in that iso-file when I am opening it in daemon-tools or burning on a cd.

Help.

You have to boot it, it’s a Boot CD, with a bootable floppy image on it.

Burn it onto CD!

They made the ISO ass backwards.
Fujitsu created the ISO with the img file.
This means the Image is of an image.
I just used Winimage to extract the contents of the img file
The contents are:

autoexec.bat
command.com
config.sys
gsa4164b.exe
himem.sys
io.sys
msdos.sys
xmsdsk.exe

I am going to burn them to a bootable cd-rw and see what happens.

Huh? The Fujitsu ISO’s we’ve seen* look to be perfectly valid ISO’s for an El Torito Boot CD, which you can burn as an image onto a CD and boot from it. Clearly if you drag the ISO into a layout and then burn it it’s not going to work, you simply need to burn the image.

So why the heck would you need to pull the files out of the floppy boot image (.IMA) embedded in the ISO and create some other half-assed boot disc solution?
