GSA-4163B won't burn after upgrade

For some reason, after upgrading PC to Athlon 64 and ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard, burner won’t burn - Nero or any other proggy locks solid. Will READ DVD’s etc. just fine.

Thought I would try a firmware upgrade, won’t go - says:
Updating was failed. Please repeat that. (Error data = 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

if you’re using Nvidia’s IDE drivers, uninstall them and go back to MS’s defaults drivers. Nvidia’s drivers have been known to cause problems with writers.

I too have this motherboard with an Athlon 64 3500+ and a 4163B. Have had absolutely no problems. The mothwerboard does not have an Nvidia chipset but uses Via.
