GSA-4160B - Buffer too large

I’m trying to burn out DVD with my LG, but i’m always getting this error.

Could someone help me out solve it ?

I’ve installed the latest drivers for Nvidia, but that didnt solve it. And i cant active the DMA from the system properties. And under the bios, they are on auto.

You are not alone I too am having this issue :frowning:

I manage to get a different error when I set the secondry IDE channel to Auto DMA settings in the BIOS

My next plan is to move the drive to the Primary position on the Secondary IDE channel

Remove the NVidia driver and use the stock Microsoft IDE driver instead.

Hello,
I fixed my problem I did a few things but I think this is the key.

Go into Device Manager, Open the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controlers select the NVIDIA one or whatever is on your system there should be 3 Primary Secondary and a named type, select the named one.

Properties - Update driver - Allow MS to conenct to the net this time only, off it goes gets new drivers reboot machine.

Now if you go back into device manage open the secondary IDE channel you should have an advanced tab with everything set to use DMA if applicable, if not you still have an issue and might want to try some of this stuff. otherwise burn away it should work now

  1. Some BIOS settings require DMA to be truned on, go into the BIOS and loke for IDE channels or DMA and set it to AUto if youcan.
  2. Move DVD burner to primary position on the IDE channel, don’t belive this affects anything but I did it.
  3. Uninstal the ovending IDE chanel through device manager and reinstal it.

I think the oposite is the problem ie it has stock standard IDE controlers but needs the specific NVIDIA ones, maybe not but who cares it works now, thanks anyway

I had the same error. I had DMA set, but I needed to go into my BIOS and change to DMA 5 (Ultra Mode 5), a higher transfer rate. I had also tried to update the firmware of my LG DVD burner to no avail. Once I changed the DMA setting to a higher transfer rate, I stopped getting errors when I updated the firmware. I have the latest and greatest IDE drivers.

I hope this helps.

Happy Burning !
