GS0F firmware works great!

I usually burn BeAll 4x printables in my two Pioneer 106D’s (I like them because you can print full-face on them), but didn’t use them in the Lite-on 851s I have because of the horrible results (very, very bad at the end of the disc). But on the Pioneers, they record beautifully. So, for the Lite-on, I stuck with Riteks.

Well, I recently updated the firmware to GS0F and what a difference! Hopefully my attachment works, but it’s night and day difference. Same image file, same burner, same media - two hugely different results - only real difference was the firmware version. Using the GS08 firmware, the PI would start at 50 and steadily climb to 1200 at the end of the disc. Using GS0F, it would range from 50 to a max of 150! Plays perfectly.

<I tried to upload the jpg of the results, but kept getting “The uploaded file is not a valid GIF or JPG file. Please ensure that it is and try again”>

sounds like wonderful news. <a href=“http://short-circuit.zapto.org”><img src=“http://short-circuit.zapto.org/freecomputerhelp.gif” border=0 alt=“Free Computer Help”></a>

Padre, which firmware is good for burning dvd-r on 851s??

thx

Like my post said, both GS08 and GS0F worked fine for burning Ritek DVD-R media, but GS08 was lousy for BeAll media. So, I’d probably go with GS0F if I were you.

The thing is i can’t get any Ritek or BeAll media in my region. In here, TYG01 is almost double the price of ricoh+r, and ricoh is not cheap either. I’ve tried GS0F already, but its burn quality on ricoh isn’t good!! I’m trying to get some disc in reasonable price, but not too crappy media! So, i’m heavily reply on ricoh for the moment… but still want to give -r a go… anyway
