An SLI motherboard is going to be more expensive than an non-SLI motherboard.
Right now it would be cheaper to go with a single ATI-4850 than twin 8600s.
Of course it you are talking about the distant future nothing that is available today matters because new better stuff will be available in the future.

so an ati 4850 huh. ive looked around at some revies ppl gave it and some people said it was better then they expected lol. and later ive looked at some benchmark tests. it might be better to buy a single 4850 since it may be the power of 2 86 ocs I hope**
and it would save money as he said because obviously sli ready mother boards are more expensive.
other then that ive seen 8600 OCs well under $100 but i guess that dont mean shit nowdays
