Got a problem with batch commands!

Got a problem with entering bat commands
I made from couple off files (Prog) 1 Winrar SFX file
I got Irfanview in it, and after installing i got a Languages map
wot i like to extract from the SFX file to:
C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages

This is how it look like wot i got now:

@ECHO OFF
IrfanView.exe
Xcopy Language C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages
EXIT

I get the error f 2 many parameters

when i do this:

@ECHO OFF
IrfanView.exe
Xcopy Language C:\ProgramFiles\Irfanview\Languages
Exit

Its ask if its a mapname or a goalname
I got the same thing wen i want some thing 2 end in “my Documents”
i can’t get the command fot it. :frowning: :eek:

I can get the file with no problem on my c:\ or
C:\Documents and Settings\Mxz

But wen i enter C:\Documents and Settings\Mxz\My Documents
it makes a map an doesnt but it in “My Documents” and i get the same bloody
Mapname = B or Goalname = D its making me insane :a :doh:

my window is allready half op and i don’t think my keybord is gone make
it! :eek: So if some 1 can help me out i would be very happy and less stressed :bigsmile:

Xcopy doesn’t know if Language is a directory or a file. If it is a directory it will copy all (.) files of the Language directory to C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages. If it is a file it will copy that file to C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages

If C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages does not exist, it copies the content (wether if that is a directory or file) to a file called Languages in the IrFanview directory. Either make sure that C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages exist or include a md C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages\ in your batchfile.

Xcopy Language C:\ProgramFiles\Irfanview\Languages
Its ask if its a mapname or a goalname
As expected.

Let’s assume that Language is a directory with files in it that you want to copy to C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages

Then it should be this

@echo off
IrfanView.exe
Xcopy …\Language*.* C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages\

If it is a file you can try this

@echo off
IrfanView.exe
Xcopy Language.* C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages\

No it didnt work m8, again i get the no good parameters
wot i got in the SFX file is

Irfanview.exe
Languages.dir

( This is wots in Languages dir )

Dutch1.dll
Dutch2.dll
Dutch3.dll

Opening the .exe file is no problem! :clap:
But getting the files from the Languages.dir in
the C:\Program Files\Irfanview\Languages dir
doesn’t work!! bloody parameter error… :a :eek: :eek:

Same thing happens, for a sample, if i
Try 2 copy a picture or a Program from my E:\Unzipped 2
C:\Documents and Settings\Mxz\Mijn documenten ( So that “My Documents” )
Or to C:\Program Files ( “Program Files” ) and even 2
C:\Windows dir its just doesnt recogni the bloody map or command
I get wrong syntac or Para error :eek: :eek:

I reckon i got the command for the “program files” folder wrong

cos i can copy form “my documents” to say E:\Unzipped but
i can’t the other way around same thing with my “program files” and
"Windows" dir.
Don’t know if ure a wizzz with batch cos i’m starting on my second keybord now :rolleyes:
