I'm searching for a good (if possible the best) SATA 2.6 to USB 3.0 drive enclosure for a Pioneer BDR-S09XLT internal BR burner. I currently have a Buffalo BRXL-16U3 external BR writer, but I'm not content because of the lack of updates and its ripping speed (see this thread for further information), so I'm thinking of buying this internal writer and "transforming it" in an external USB 3.0 drive.
Price is not a problem, but product must be available in Europe (so please don't post links to Newegg, Provantage...). Also the enclosure must have a power adapter and hot-swapping is desirable, but not a must.
In the thread mentioned above I suggested a different approach to this issue:
- THIS USB 3 to SATA III adapter
- Pioneer BDR-S09XLT writer
- THIS USB 3 PCI Express expansion card
(I already have this card).
But I'm not sure if this will work for sure or is better than the proposed drive enclosure. I think that an enclosure would be more suitable for protection against dust, dents, shocks... but the heat is also a problem.
Thank you in advance for your advices.
