Hi, I'm pc challenged (this is my user name and it fits well).I am using clone dvd to rip and burn on an LG player/burner. I am using memorex DVD+R as my recording medium. When I copy a DVD movie, some play perfectly and some skip or freeze up. What can I do to improve the quality?
You could try Taiyo Yuden, (TY), available online or Verbatim, widely available, but first, what speed are you burning these at & what speed are they rated for? Also are you booktyping them to Dvd-Rom?
Use better quality media and burn at a moderate speed. We recommend Verbatim 16x, which can be found locally, and Taiyo Yuden 8x +R media. The TY can be ordered online from shops like rima.com and supermediastore.com, among others. Burn at 8x or 12x with good media. Cut back to 8x with those Memorex disks and see if that helps. You might also look for a firmware update for whichever burner you are using.
I'm burning them at 1X speed. What is book typing????????
If there is a burn log created, please post it.
There is such a thing as burning too slowly with modern media. If these are 16x speed disks, and you have a burner made anytime in the last three years, set your burn speed at 8x.

Which model LG burner do you have?
See if your exact model is reviewed here.
One great thing about choosing a CDFreaks' reviewed drive is the media tests they do, which enables you to choose the media that is an ideal match for the burner.
