Ghostery is your window into the invisible web – tags, web bugs, pixels and beacons that are included on web pages in order to get an idea of your online behavior.

Ghostery tracks over 1,200 trackers and gives you a roll-call of the ad networks, behavioral data providers, web publishers, and other companies interested in your activity.

Though many many sites may not like this feature, i think it’s kinda cool to try out. YOU are back in control at what you allow or not to siff out your data via various kinds of methods (like data mining).

Combined with AdBlock plus it seems to make an awesome anonymous experience of your surfing.

Lots of sites already have an AdBlock detector. I wonder how much time it will take for them to come up with a Ghostery detector once more and more people use it.

One thing though: It doesn’t seem to find anything at all on the website itself. Is that because there isn’t anything or…
