I currently have a DVDRW-IDE 16. It is a dual layer drive and it's updated via liveupdate (drvupdate.com). I don't remember the brand though. I have had trouble getting a successful DL burn of ripped DVDs, even though I'm using their recommended media (Verbatim DVD+R DL)
Nero CD-DVD Speed: Disc Info
Disc type: : DVD+R DL
Book Type : DVD+R DL
Manufacturer: : Verbatim
MID : MKM 001 000 (00h)
Write speeds: : 2.4 X - 4 X
Blank Capacity : 7.96 GB
: 8152 MB
: 8547993600 bytes
Layers : 2
Layer break : 3.98 GB
The reason I bring this up is that I am thinking my problems may be due to my drive and not the media I am using. I was looking at the LG GH22NS30 on NewEgg because it has stellar reviews. My questions are:
- Will purchasing this drive fix my burn problems?
- If so, what particular media should I be using?
- If not, then what should I be doing to get a good burn?
What usually happens is that the disk appears to burn correctly, but when I play them, the movies skip or freeze.
Thanks in advance.
