Getting dos to recognise my usb stick

I need an FAT16 on my stick because I only have DOS functioning on my
harddrive and DOS can only read usb sticks with FAT16.

What dos program can I use to format a usb stick to FAT16 ?

If your DOS installation can see the USB drive at all, which is possible but only if you find some USB drivers for DOS, then you can use the “FORMAT” command to format your USB drive just like you would with a floppy disk or harddrive.

If you don’t have USB drivers installed for your DOS operating system, and the BIOS in your pc doesn’t automatically mount USB mass storage at boot time, then finding USB drivers and installing them is the tricky part.
