G03- why it works 4 me

I never knew anyone had problems with G03 media with the 2500a. so i purchased like 200 of them. i flashed my firmware to 1.07. i have have 20 out of 20 succesful burns on these disks. i have used them to back up dvd movies and ps2 games. all work flawless on dvd consoles and ps2’s (modded) for games and unmodded for movies. The burn sets for 2x but based on the time, it is actually burning at 1x. i would like to do whatever tests that people say to do to see exactly why my media works flawless and everyone else seams to have issues. the media was purchased from shop4tech in 100x bundles.

any idea why my burns are good, and alot of other people have isssues? and is there any news out there about someone hacking firmware to let 2x media burn faster?

thanks

could be you just got some good disks…they vary widely in quality. and you may still have higher error rates but not high enough to cause a problem…ie under 280 PI 32 PO with 8ecc on KPROBE. if you have a liteon dvd writer you can test you burns with kprobe.

i dont have a liteon dvd writer, is there any other ways to test the error rate on dvd’s?

thanks

Interesting… so the burns take 1 hour to complete or longer?
This is very peculiar because the 2500A should only write at a minimum of 2X. If you are writing at 1X, there is something wrong with your hardware or software config. Try some steps in my troubleshooting guide and update your recording software to the latest version.

In all honesty I’d be willing to burn at 1X if it meant good burns on my G03s. I’m tired of my 2500a turning them into coasters.

I just installed my 2500a and was concerned over the left over stock I had of G03. Anyways, here is the results of my first burn.

Dvdinfo Pro gives no read errors on the disc.

Guess I just got lucky with this batch of G03’s.
