Trickles? Nintendo just had 2 days of press events. Its £179 in the UK with Wii Sports, wiimote and a nunchuck

For me £179 is far too expensive. The whole ad campain for the Wii was that it was it was accepted to be a lesser spec console than both the Xbox360 and PS3 but much cheaper. “cheap but fun” is what i constantly heard quoted. But at the moment if i wanted i know I could buy a brand new Xbox360 Core for £180 if I wanted. I think the ad campain, of we accept its lesser specs than a Xbox and Ps3, and then eventually pricing it the same as an Xbox360, Nintendo have made a pretty bad goof.

I agree that $250 USD is steep price tag for such a low spec console. I remember reading that the Wii’s CPU is on average 1.5x faster than the Gamecube’s processor. Seriously, this console has lower specs than the original Xbox and doesn’t even come with a hard drive. I’m in my late 20’s and I’ve been a Nintendo fan for nearly two decades, but the Wii is a joke. They’re selling us something that rivals technology from 5-6 years ago at today’s prices. Fail.
