Those are all 2nd generation players, HD-XA2 adds 1080p and HDMI 1.3 support. Its ridiculous that those features add that much to the pricetag.

Blue-Ray would become another Beta IF anyone at the HD-DVD side comes up with a $199 player. :B You LISTENING tosh?

Why would I want to buy a player that only plays certain movies??? These guys just don’t get it…LG has the right idea…now all we need is mass production and steep price drops!!!

Last ditch efforts with the hope of salvaging a sinking ship. What more can they really do? I don’t know if anyone noticed but there’s already a $199 HD-DVD player… if you already own a Xbox360 (over 10 million already do)… It doesn’t seem to be making much of a difference…

@johnzap: what a brilliant idea :r for sure the price of the xbox doesn’t count in the total cost of the HD-DVD player you’ve mentioned :+

Right on. This will help us out. Death to Blu-crap and blisters to all those who serve their $ony masters. :stuck_out_tongue:

X-Box 360 HD-DVD drive only outputs to component…No HDMI or DVI…Stupid!!!

@sacks: read more carefully. Notice how I mentioned that there are already over 10 million Xbox360 out there (according to M$, the 12 million mark will be reached in a few months)? So, I was just saying that, for those 10 million Xbox360 owners, a HD-DVD player will only cost $199. Get it? Since there are a LOT less Blu-Ray players + PS3s out there, if HD-DVD was such a great deal, one would assume the HD-DVD $199 player would be a fast moving item. Not so, apparently.

Johnzap, that’s probably because people got a 360 for GAMING, something Sony forgot about.
