Can these disc really be this bad? Been trying to do some backups for a day and a half. Ran out of my MIJ’s and bought these and can not get anything(iso’s or ts) to burn. Uninstalled and reinstalled imageburn.decrypter,ripit4me and shrink not knowing if there was a problem there. All latest updates. Tried burning iso’s with decrypter and imageburm,ts folders with Nero and IB. No joy. Found a extra Imation laying around and burned a old ts file on my HD on it with Nero with success. Tried to do another burn, same file with the Fuji/prodisc and it failed in about 5 seconds. Did I waste my $$ or am I just a Dumass. I do get 20 rewrite try’s with IB and decrypter before it gives up the ghost. Have IB log

I have gone in to administrative tools/ services/Imapi/general tab/startup type and disabled also went into decrypter/tools/settings/Iso write mode and unchecked “LocK Volume-Exclusive Access”

Your older HP DVD Writer 300c probably doesn’t support the newer PRODISC R05 media. You could try upgrading to the latest firmware. If that doesn’t work, then you need to get some older (slower rated) compatible DVD media, or get a new DVD burner.

EDIT: It looks like EK24 is the latest firmware for your drive, so I don’t think you’ll be able to burn those 16x rated discs with your 4x rated burner.

Thanks for the reply. Latest firmware update was 2 years ago so thats out. looks like I have an excuse to upgrade to D/L now.

Even with updated firmware, there is no guarantee that the prodisc’s will work well in your burner. Some folks like them, and others hate them.
