FujiFilm DVD Media

which of these Fujis is best for burning movies?

  • Fuji DVD-R RITEKF1 (made in taiwan) 16x
  • Fuji DVD+R PRODISC-R05-01 (made in taiwan) 16x
  • Fuji DVD+R YUDEN000-T02-00 (made in japan) 8x
  • Fuji DVD+R RICOHJPN-R01-02 (made in japan) 4x

lately the only Fujis i find in stores are the top two.

which is better?

The Yuden 000T02’s stand head and shoulders above the rest of those, but we haven’t seen Fujifilm TY media in a very long time.

Personally I"d look for some Verbatim MCC004 disks (16x +R).

I’ll let someone else split hairs on the Ritek/Prodisc choice. Which burner are you using?

yeah, youre right Kerry56

infact i havent seen much Fuji dvds in stores anymore…

do you know what happen? they use to be

to answer your question…

i have a Lite-On 4x Internal DVD+/-RW Drive (LDW-411S)

which is pretty old, but still running and works great.

i guess ill check out those Verbatim dvd+r

Your old liteon does not have the firmware to burn any of todays media. You will have to find some old 4X media. Sorry!

I’m sure that Taiyo Yuden 8x +R would work with that burner. I have an old NEC 4x burner that still does fine with them. The problem is you won’t find the TY disks locally. You can buy them online at sites like rima.com or supermediastore.com.

DVD+R RICOHJPN-R01-02 would be my choice, but I cannot find it in my area anymore.

thanks for the info…

the fujis i buy lately are the ritekf1

and they play fine… some hicups every now and then, but not enough for me to consider them unplayable.

plus, its the only ones i can find in the retail stores.

i will go to tigerdirect see what they got.

I still have a cake box of 100 of those:bigsmile:
