From a Liteon CDRW to a CDRW + DVD ROM

Is it possible to flash a firmware to turn my Liteon CDRW to a CDRW with DVD ROM? Any views welcome and thanks in advance.

541SIR welcome to the forums. What Stoner tried to tell you with a sense of humor is that it is not possible. There are hardware differences between a cd recorder and a DVD drive that flashing with a fw can not make up for it.

If its important for you, getting a combo drive is very cheap nowdays, you can get one for 40-45$, almost as cheap as a single dvd drive or single recorder.
