Freeware software DVD players?

Was hoping someone could recommend a free DVD player. I like WinDVD and PowerDVD but of course they expire after 30 days. Many of the ones I have found seem to bundle some spyware with them. I don’t need a fancy interface or features, just poor-people friendly

Thanks for any leads.

Why don’t you use MS’s media player? It comes with Windows anyway and you can always download the newest version anytime…

I love VLC (videolan client). It is free and plays tons of formats. Get it from www.videolan.org!

Hmm… I was under the impression that media player didn’t support mpeg-2 out of the box and the free codecs for it were crap.

Dee-ehn, thanks for the tip, I’ll check it out.

Watching DVDs On Your PC

I never had problems installing one from Microsoft’s site. That’s what I’m using for viewing movie DVDs on my pc…, but then, of course, for any serious watching I have my DVD player in the living room.
