I just downloaded the latest version of Exact Audio Copy and when I tried to rip a track from a CD, I got dunned to pay $7.99 for access to the GD3 database service.
What happened to the old (and free) database that EAC used to have as an option?
No other entries available anymore under EAC --> MetaData settings?
The latest official version is 1.0 beta 3 from 2011 A.F.A.I.K. and it supports FreeDB.
Where did you download from and what is the version number?
Here's what my EAC database menu looks like:
When I click on "Remote Metadata Provider" I get this nag screen:
Any ideas on how to get the old free database back?
You're looking in the wrong tab.....open the EAC tab on the left...
EAC --> MetaData settings
not in the database tab...
Many thanks, roadworker!
YW...EAC has so many options,it's easy to oversee one....
