Fornex DVD-R

TOSHIBA SD-R 5112 1031, 3826 MB burned at 1x

sold as “Emgeton Digireel DVD-R 4×”
MID: FORNEX101
disc is a little bit scratched (that increased the number of PI failures at the beginning…)

HL-DT-ST (LG) GSA-H62N CL01, 4193MB burned at 2x
MID: FORNEX101
sold as “CDR-King DVD-R 4.7GB 120min” (no speed rating on disc)

Disc has oil spots and a little dust but no scratches. ~2-3 years in dark storage before burned. Disc still readable after 3months but show signs of very high degradation. Initial scans weren’t available but a TRT then showed no major slowdowns, as is with the TRT of the current disc except for some dips at the end (nothing major, TRT omitted).

Data is now backed up on different media.

HL-DT-ST (LG) GSA-H62N CL01, 4180MB burned at 2x
MID: FORNEX101
sold as “CDR-King DVD-R 4.7GB 120min” (no speed rating on disc)

Disc 2 of a set (Disc 1 found before this post). Same conditions as the earlier disc posted (oil spots, slightly dusty but no scratches) and also in the same spindle in dark storage. TRT shows no signs of any imminent problems except for the scans. Slow detection of the media in any drive aside from the scans is the only proof of extreme degradation.

Data has also been successfully backed up on different media - although Samsung SH-S203N detects and has removed a few “glitches” (20).
