I ran a bunch of test on different CD-R media. All the disk are tested with GTA3, the play disk, and this is what I have come up with:

System tested:
P4 1.6 (not "A")
MB- Abit th7 II
256 megs of Rambus ram (RDRam)
LiteOn 40125S (Burned at Max)
Toshiba 1402 (read with at 4X)
Maxtor 40 gig, 7200 (partitioned to a 30 gig and 10 gig)
SoundBlaster Live X-Gamer
ect........

So as you can see the Verbatim and Taiyo-Yuden worked best for my system......

But you forget to mention:

the 2,79% unreadable is the safedisc protection on the GTA disc. With an unprotected disc these unreadable sectors would not have been there.
