Can you flash a drive connected to an external PCI IDE ATA Controller?
Normally not, same counts for USB devices/controllers.
Normal IDE controllers doesn’t support optical drives.
But there are controllers that work with opticals. Can you flash normally if a drive is connected to such a controller?
Yes, then “it should” be possible. But there is no guarantee.
Lite-ON flashers work 100 % through a PCI ATA Controller. I have one with my Lite-ON drives conected and do it all the time.
Regards.
Only if the Controller support optical drives, precisely this dvd burner.
Thanx guys. Pleasure talking on the forum, as always.
