FLASHING A PLEXTOR FROM 40/12/40A to 48/24/48A

Ok i have a plextor 40/12/40A as u can guess, and ive heared (and confirmed on cdfreaks) that people have flashed an older version cd writer with a newer models binary so the older model can now write and the newer models speeds. Now i was wondering if this was posible on my cd writer using the bianry for the plextor 48/24/48A. Because as far as i can see the only thing has changed is the way the system manages the spindle speed http://www.plextor.be/English/pdf/PlextorCAV.pdf. The only reason i can see that it wont work is if its a completly diffrent controll system or if the maxium spindle speeds are diffrent. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think it is impossible because of the different rewrite speeds.
