Do these things deteriorate after many writes?

Is kingston or PNY good? Sandisk seems a bit expensive.

I have kingston, PNY, Lexar, Corsair and Dane-elec not one failure in use.

I use 3 PNY,2 Sandisc, and 1 WD 6 gig pocket drive and all have lasted fine.

I also have a 1 WD 6 gig and one Sony 8 gig pocket drive that work fine. Cool to carry movies in your pocket.

So basically any name brand is good here right?

With Win Vista, you can use these to enhance game performance. Does that kind of constant write and rewrites kill these things like really really quickly? Or can they still last years?

Thanks.

I would say if you stick with name brand you will be fine. Verbatim makes USB drives also.
I did thanks to your heads up :flower:
yeah that was a really nice deal and i haven’t seen them that cheap since then

It’s this thing. I think they are using it as extra ram, even if you have 4 gigs it still helps.

But doesn’t that constantly rewrite those like 1000 times a minute?

It was on a special sale from Staples had very nice software to auto backup files saved my but a few times. It is about 20% larger than the WD but still pocket size. Only problem with Pocket drives you can’t remove the card to use in your camera, a small car reader is an option I have one that takes up to 4 gig.

When you say “Vi$ta” do you mean it’s bad?

I don’t have it yet, I was thinking about getting it because it’s on sale.
