I fixed this issue on my system this morning. What is the deal with nero and their bad programming as of late
here is the solution
- Open up regedit
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ AutoplayHandlers \ Handlers \ <handler>
- Towards the bottom you will see the nero autoplay registry entries. Click on anyone of them and you will see the bad entries.
- To fix change default icon to the location of the installed program eg for C:\Program Files (x86)\Nero\Nero 9\Nero Recode\Recode.exe,0
- To fix the “Action” text I just used what was there for that registry entry
or use this if you are on Vista 64 and Nero is installed in its default location. Change the extension from txt to reg
