The price and release date of Intel’s first Core i7 Next Unit of Computing (NUC) have appeared online. The estimated price, based on the average of both a Scandinavian webhop and an Amazon reseller, is around $570.

At those prices, it would still be a gaming niche… streaming boxes are in the $65 - $250 range, tops…
These mini dekstops consume nearly as much power too… in the 40 - 250 watt range. Someday I hope PC makers can find a way to get desktops to use 10-15 watts on tasks like browsing, video streaming & lite usage.
