great site guys and after browsing through a heap of the posts its obvious you have a ton of very clever people around to help noobs like me with there probs.
my problem is with nero 6.6.0.3 and lasers new a20 dye dvd-r disks so far in trying to back up my copy of the bourne supremacy ive made 8 coasters, ive shrunk the movie with dvd shrink and then saved the files to hard drive,im then running nero burning rom and opening the files through nero,i can get a succesful simulation every time i try simulation, but it just wont burn it for some reason, ive had no trouble with these disks until now.

im using an LG-GSA-4082B burner

@ akno
Welcome:). Go to the LG forum and update to the newest firmware for your drive and try another burn. If that doesn’t work, try using better media. Poor quality media is a issue here as well…the cheap stuff isn’t so cheap when you waste 90% on coasters. There may be other problems but we need to also rule out poor media first. Let us know how it goes…if you get another error, post the error log.

thanks for your reply please,i made 1 more coaster then i re encoded with shrink again but this time i saved to hd as iso, then manually burnt with nero instead of letting shrink do it all, beeing the nub that i am i would have no idea how doing it manually and saving to hd as iso would make a diff but it did and it works a treat, the previous media that i have used was +r this recent lot ive bought is -r my burner is compatible with both, the discs are of medium quality not the cheapest and are a good seller in the local shop, you mentioned updating the firmware ,do you think i should still do that after what i have explained to you here? im not very good at things like that maybe you could point me to a tutorial on how its done, any help much appreciated please thx m8

@ akno
I am glad to hear you resolved your problem to your satisfaction. I am of the belief that if it is not broken, don’t fix it, so I would recommend just enjoying the fact that it is working nicely for you now, and when you have a need to update, then you can go to the LG forum and do the research to find what you need.

#5

LG forum will check it out thx for your help please

@ akno
are these errors ocurring when you use the previously-successful procedure you described in post #3 above?
