Also here I got some news:
OFFICIAL DOWNLOAD LINK
You may download the latest update 203D at...
For DELL models, http://www.nu-global.com/admin/download/file/DDW-081-BX32.zip
or drives with 4.x firmware
http://www.de.nec.de/software/1871_FW_ND-6500_Win424.zip or drives with 2.x
Here are my questions:
0) Is this 203D the latest version? Is it going to be modified too? Or already modified?
1) What is the difference between those versions? 2.24, 4.24 etc, so confusing!!!
224bitset.zip NEC 6500A 2.24 with Riplock removed, RPC1 and Plus media bitsetting (Liggy). Drive must work as a master drive.
424bitset.zip NEC 6500A 4.24 with Riplock removed, RPC1 and Plus media bitsetting (Liggy). Drive must work as a slave drive.
2) As I quote above, it says to use 2.24 when the DVD rom is a master, and
use 4.24 when DVD rom is set slave. But how could I know my DVD is set Slave or master currently? If it is wrong, any damage to the DVD drive?
3) I plan to upgrade my 6100a to 6500 to enable DVD-R/RW, which file I should download and run? (2.24 or 4.24?) I suppose I should back my original firmwell in case the upgrade is not successful, but how should I do so?
Many command example to show it as well as the steps of upgrade the firmware from 6100a to 6500a?
As I see, I should first download 2.24 and run the file to 224rpc1.exe to get everything done including Riplock removed, RPC1 and Plus media bitsetting, then it it fails (how can I notice that?), I should then try 4.24 and then the same file 424rpc1.
Am I right? I think there would be better to have a tutorial page with screen shots, that helps a lot!
Thanks and best regards
