Firmware - can you go back?

I’d like to upgrade the firmware on my HP 8250i as per instructions on
CDRinfo’s website so that it can write at 8x - but in the case that the
firmware doesn’t work, or I can’t update it successfully (or even if it
works) - can I simply load the older firmware at a later stage and get
things back to normal?

Also, if you could revert back to the original firmware, why do firmware
upgrades terminate your warranty?

if you use the there4 made firmwares 4 your writer, nothing is wrong, but when you want to flash your burner with another writers firmware, you can’t undo it (i thaught so), thats 1 of the reasons that your warranty get voited, you can go to the local computer store and let them flash it, then you still have your warranty
