Fireburner converting images - why?

Just wondering, why does fireburner change the mode of the image every time it writes? For instance:

“Thread1: Converting from Mode1/2352 to Mode1/2448 on the fly”

I was under the impression that 2352 was the standard, as it seems to be what most programs make by default (this image was made by discdump). So why does it convert it? And it does this on every image I have tried.

2448 means P-W subcodes are enabled.

Think of it as 2352 bytes +96 bytes subcodes = 2448 bytes.

Fireburner is sending checksum error correction information in the subchannels.
