File to Big - it happend to me too

Hi!

I try to copy the movie Spaceballs (RC2) and the file get’s to big.
I try to change the size to 4444 (as written a few times in this forum) but the size is still to big.

I copy only the movie, not the hole disc and as far as I understand the messages in this board, this should happen only on “whole disc” copies.
Why will it happen to me on a “movie only” copy?

I changed the size to 4200MB and the Movie get’s exactly 4200MB, why it doesn’t work with 4472MB?
Size will be 4,49 GB (4.831.557.632 Bytes)

try 4400 - this usually works

Hi!

It also doesn’t work:

4472: 4,49 GB (4.831.557.632 Bytes)
4420: 4,45 GB (4.787.079.168 Bytes)
4400: 4,44 GB (4.769.650.688 Bytes)

hmmm - I guess its just one of those troublesome dvd’s then.
dvd2one will try to land on the size you choose - but it cant be 100% precise without doing a complete deep scan of the dvd first, which it doesnt - usually its pretty accurate though but a few dvd’s are simply just that litle bit odd.

Nothing you can do really but keep trying a litle lower each time untill you get it down to the size you want.

Hi!

That’s exactly what I’m doing…but I’m wondering why the final size fits exactly the chosen size, if I chose 4200MB…
Why it doesn’t fit then also on all other chosen sizes?

That seems to be not logical for me…

Also I don’t find anything about problems with DVD2One and Spaceballs…

Hi!

And next try:

4472: 4,49 GB (4.831.557.632 Bytes)
4420: 4,45 GB (4.787.079.168 Bytes)
4400: 4,44 GB (4.769.650.688 Bytes)
4340: 4,39 GB (4.715.628.544 Bytes)
4310: 4,36 GB (4.689.231.872 Bytes) - this one fit’s on the Disc - 16MB left (like using the normally 4472)

I’m confused…

Which version of dvd2one are you using , I myself am using 1.1.3 and haven’t experienced such a problem.

Hi!

I’m using also Version 1.1.3 - it is the first time that this happen to me.
