File System Limits

Maiden post here, and I’m guessing that the following info is at the fingertips of industry professionals, but otherwise buried in $500 USD standards documents.

For ISO and UDF data CD/DVD formats is there any limit on number of files in the root dir? Number of files, overall? And what exactly is the path depth limit for each?

And for the common “bastard FAT” formats (DVD-RAM, etc.), is there a 512-item limit for the root?

There is always a limit for such things like max. allow files in the root. but especially in case of UDF the UDF revision is important, AFAIK.

This might help a lil:

Not sure how accurate though.
