If congress had stepped up to the plate when this harassment started with the MPAA and RIAA years ago this new business model would have been rightfully squashed rather than becoming the “in” thing. Here we are passing legislation to limit actions against alleged malpractice doctors and the people who are the object of this jack booted hogwash are given the choice of claiming they are guilty and paying up or being bankrupted in the court system. A nice state of affairs when we let our corporations and a pack of ambulance chasers gone wild do this to people.

“While the USCG has begun to get the identifying information on the John Doe defendants from their corresponding internet service providers, the group is using the information to send out settlement letters offering to drop the cases in exchange for money before naming the defendants in the case.”

I’m no legal expert, but how is that not extortion or bribery? That Judge needs to put the hammer down, and cite them (USCG) for legalized terrorism.

Unfortunately trust…the government is already bought and sold and wagging its’ tail behind the MPAA/RIAA already…at least the judge is using the law as it should be used.
