Fannie Mae said it will set aside the loan of a woman who shot herself as sheriff’s deputies tried to evict her from her foreclosed home.

Fannie Mae foreclosed on the Akron, Ohio, home of Addie Polk, 90, after acquiring the mortgage in 2007.

Addie Polk, 90, of Akron, Ohio, became a symbol of the nation’s home mortgage crisis when she was hospitalized after shooting herself at least twice in the upper body Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday, Fannie Mae spokesman Brian Faith said the mortgage association had decided to halt action against Polk and sign the property “outright” to her.

“We’re going to forgive whatever outstanding balance she had on the loan and give her the house,” Faith said. "Given the circumstances, we think it’s appropriate.

This sound so nice poor old lady in her 90s shoots herself because Fannie Mae is foreclosing on her house so they decided to just forget the loan and sign the house over to her. But as usually there is more to this story. Her house was paid off when her husband died and she then in 2004 and after took out loans on it that she did not pay. Of course as the article show she loves her house . I have no problem with then letting her stay there until she dies but to sign it over to her THATS MY MONEY THEY ARE GIVING AWAY WE ARE BACKING FANNIE MAE. Is this a sign of what they are going to do with that 700 billion if some company or person shoots themselves or somthing along that lines will they just say here take this money you do not need to pay it back.

Before someone thinks I am heartless I am not I am sure some smart talking person talked this lady into taking out regular loans instead of a reverse mortgage, so as stated I do not want them to move all I want is the house when she dies so the government can sell it and get some of the money bac

We talked my mother into taking out one of the Reverse house loans which allows her to spend the money from the loan without paying any payments and see can stay in the house until she dies. Well can I now go tell her shoot yourself in the foot and call the government I am sure the bank will be giving the loan to them for cash since you have already live to long for them to make any money on it. When you call them tell them that you are so upset over this that you shot yourself.

I sent the leaders of both houses emails about this hope the jump on Fannie Mae.

This is what was written on another site about this

Fannie Mae is now going to forgive her debt. It is a new term of Fannie Mae contracts. If you are willing to shoot yourself and survive, you will receive loan forgiveness. Guns sales are now soaring across the country as people “renegotiate” their loans. In the meantime, if you are an executive, you will not have to physically harm yourself. The standard is now $20 million for every 17 days in office.

I am going to call my bank and tell them to please turn my loan over to Fannie since I have plenty of guns to shoot myself with.

In the US, without a decent Health Care system, it’ll cost you $20million to patch you up to a healthy state again :stuck_out_tongue:

My wife has worked at doctors office for years and one thing that has always been so it that poor people and middle class pay full but the rich people who as she puts it are somebody only pay what there insurance pays. It funny they seem to never have to pay the extra do not even get a bill. And if you are one of those who do not have insurance the hospital or doctors office makes you pay the standard charge but if you have insurance most insurance companies have rules not only what they will pay for something but how much the hospital or doctor office can charge the person. Our system is broke broke broke and needs to be fixed.

Everyone outside of the USA knows that

But the USA is so freaked out about slipping into socialism, which we all know is just the first step to communism :stuck_out_tongue: that any time something which really should be government controlled (like common health care) the anti-communist spin doctors & fear brigade march out with placards decrying how the USA is turning into Communist Russia :iagree: - Sponsored by Big Corporations which are providing minimal service at incredibly high prices to maximise profits at US Citizens expense -
