Following up on the discussion within this thread regarding Lite-ON drives having unique features which allow it to be far more forgiving towards trash discs, I decided to purchase a Lite-ON drive.
I searched about 100 or so e-commerce websites and distributors, however, I wasn’t able to locate any source which would be ready to sell and ship any of the following series:
- iHAS324/424/524/624 [I wanted to go for the newer drives as it could have lead to better results]
Anyway, since I wasn’t able to locate any source for the above mentioned models, I simply [B]purchased a Lite-ON iHAS124[/B] which was available locally, where I live.
I updated the firmware of the iHAS124 to the latest version available and I used the following advanced settings which are unique to Lite-ON drives:

Also, if you remember, I had saved some of the inferior quality Verbatims that I had purchased, specifically for testing on a Lite-ON drive, when I would purchase one. Therefore, I began my tests and I’m listing below the results of it:
[B]1st burn[/B]: went without a hitch and verified 100%
[I][U][B]2nd burn[/B][/U][/I]: failed, reason: [B]write error–>invalid address for write[/B]
[B]3rd burn[/B]: went without a hitch and verified 100%
disk quality (3rd burn):

[I][B]5th burn[/B][/I]: went without a hitch, but found some uncorrectable sectors during the verification phase:
