I’m new to this forum, and hope I won’t make a fool out of myself w/ dumb questions…
I’m having difficult time to identify the protection on a program-cd I have, called Otzrot Israel ver. 2 (or Judaica 2). I’ve the original CD, and want to make a copy so I can use it in my laptop too, w/o moving the CD all the time from here to there.
First, I’ve tried simple Disc-Copy w/ Nero. I got some read-errors during reading the source CD, but the copy was done successfully.
But then, when I launched the program w/ the copied CD, I got a message - ‘Please use the original CD’ and such.
Then I started working, reading many many posts over here… and got into business.
Started scaning the original CD with A-Ray, no results came up (Even though an earlier ver. of the similar program detected SafeDisc 2.4)
Tried ClonyXXL - finish up with nothing. (Wierd thing is, because of ClonyXXL message - I’ve installed ASPI driver, and since then - ClonyXXL itself can’t even recognize the CD type that in the drive. I’ll have to open another thread about that problem, probablly. NM)
Tried ProtectionID - and with the Scan CD/DVD Drive (File) got no results, not even a message on a clean disc in the log window, which I find very strange. The Scan CD/DVD (Sector), on the other hand, came up with this message:
[I] Init cd/dvd sector scan for Drive E
[h] Heuristic Scan Indicates disk is possibly protected…
-> Protection : None/Unknown
[!] Disc appears to have no protection or is using an unknown protection
- Scan Took : 0.328 Second(s)
Moved on to BurnOut, and the only message I got here was:
“could be CD/DVD-check”
Now, I donno how can I move on from here. How can I be sure which protection I got on this CD, and how can I break it?
TY in advance.
