Failed Burn using DVDFAB and Nero 8

I have the Sammy SH-203B so bitsetting does not work within DVDFAB. BUT, Nero 8 can make it work… I won’t digress on that.

So, I used DVDFAB and changed the burn engine to Nero. I have a home movie that I authored and I know it works. I’ve been doing these for several years.

I ran FAB against it with the Puffin engine and it burns just fine, and it doesn’t change the booktype.

I changed to the Nero engine and it always fails. Here are the error logs:

ASPI is 4.60 and has been for a long time.

The problem is that whatever info for the file directory is being passed by FAB to the NEROAPI may be wrong. And the error happens on the attempted read of the VIDEO_TS folder.

I also tried this on a DVD copy and let FAB write the folder and it still can’t find it.

I then changed to SPTI in FAB and it gives the same error… it’s not an ASPI problem. And error 16 comes from FAB not Nero.

Hi dsdarli,

Wondering if maybe this is a registry issue.
Have you tried a reg cleaner lately?

I know this isn’t the fix/workaround you want, but if you rip with Fab, then close Fab and open nero, are you able to burn ok?

Does this happen with both pata (Benq) and sata (sammy) ODs?

in nero 7, error 16 = Error caused by corrupt filesystem structure

so it seems that nero must not like the output created by fab. i have used nero 6 to burn from fab several times and have not had a problem. did it work when you tried with maineman suggestion.

have you tried this on a DVD copy using only nero?

I played around with some more and have come to the conclusion that FAB and the NEROAPI are miscommunicating and I’ll drop the matter.

But, it does beg the comment Nero 8 burning rom can do bitsetting on the Sammy and FAB VSO engine doesn’t.

But, I’m done here with this thread…
