I second that alan, excellent job... :iagree:
Re: registry cleaners, just click on Regseeker below in my sig...free, easy and reliable. As you install and run the app, you'll see a small box...lower left corner "Backup before deletion". It is checked by default...do Not uncheck!
As with all reg cleaners, best to backup data prior to use. I have used this app many times and have never had a problem...likewise I've recommended it to many a friend and user...never had a complaint, but no point in tempting fate...
First off, uninstall Fab...sounds like you have the regkey stored safely away (floppy, cd, ext hdd, etc.,).
Take a look at nero, if you have InCD installed, uninstall it. It's packet writing software and will create problems.
With this sort of issue, sometimes it's necessary to uninstall your optical drives as well...probably a good idea and only takes another minute or two...few clicks of the mouse.
Navigate to device manager via control panel. Click on IDE controllers. Generally, your burners are on the secondary IDE channel, but not always. (For eg., my burners are installed on a primary IDE channel...I have 4 sata hdds installed and I've outgrown this motherboard... ).
Now run the reg cleaner. Reboot, xp will reinstall your burners no problem. Download Fab from Fentao's site and do a new install.
Problems or questions, just holler.
Good luck and let us know...
Ok, ok signals...I should have known you'd be skulking about...
You know I hate this getting old and slow thing...my typing really sucks... :o
